Let's talk about waxing...

*A short list of our most frequently asked questions.

How long do I have to let my hair grow?

Your hair should be about 1/4 – 1/2 inch long. The grow out stage is usually 2 weeks. The more follicles/roots we can pull, the cleaner the wax, the longer it is going to last and the happier you are going to be!

Does it hurt?

On a scale of 1 to the B.Spears meltdown of ’07…we promise you’ll be leaving hairless, though without the emotional breakdown! Our  experienced Estheticians know how to make your wax as pain-free as possible! That’s why you leave it to us – the experts!

Should I trim my hair?

Do you clean your house before the maid comes? You probably do.. but let’s leave the trimming to us, so you don’t go too short!

Can I get waxed on my cycle?

Yes! Some people find waxing to be more sensitive on their cycle, but throw a tampon in and you’re good to go!

If i’m pregnant, can I still get waxed?

We encourage it! The further along you are, the harder it is to reach certain places. That’s where we come in!

Can medication affect waxing?

Yes! Please do NOT wax if you’re on any sort of medication that warns against sun sensitivity. Your skin can, and will come off. Acutane, Retin A, Differen…all affect the thickness of your skin. Please consult with us before your wax treatment if you’re taking any medications.

What is the difference between waxing & sugaring?

Waxing and sugaring both have the same result. The one to choose is completely based on individual preference. All of our estheticians are trained in both techniques. Waxing and sugaring is the same cost for all services except for full & half leg, back and chest.

Waxing: Soft wax is applied with the hair growth and pulled off against the growth using epilating strips.

Sugaring: Sugar is an all-natural form of hair removal that is made solely from sugar, lemon, and water. The sugar is applied against the hair growth and pulled off with the growth. There are more ‘pulls’ than waxing because the sugar is applied using a technique called ball sugaring where it is applied without using strips. Strip sugaring may be used for larger surface areas (i.e. legs, back, chest).

*People who have sensitive skin may find that sugaring is better for them because it only adheres to hair and not skin. We recommend trying both and choosing to continue with whichever technique felt better and gave you the best results for your skin type.

Can I tan before I wax?

We recommend waiting 24 hours after suntanning to get waxed. If you just got a spray tan – it may come off while waxing.

Will my hair grow back the same?

With frequent waxing, the hair follicles get weaker and weaker. This is good – your hair will grow back slower, and thinner! Years of waxing can reduce hair growth by a SIGNIFICANT amount!

What does a Brazilian entail?

From front to back, GONE! (Unless you specify)
It usually takes about 20 minutes, though it depends how frequent you wax and how much hair you have (everyone’s different!).

How long does waxing last?

Frequent waxers can last up to 3-4 weeks. Most people book their waxing every 4 weeks, with the last week being their week of growth. Your hair grows in cycles, and not all follicles are in the same cycle. Frequent waxing can line up all of your follicles’ cycles, creating a longer time showing off that perfectly smooth skin!

How do I stop ingrown hairs?

We recommend exfoliating 2-3 times a week. Whether you use a body scrub, or any form of mechanical exfoliation – this will keep your follicles free of build up and it’s the best way to stop those pesky ingrown hairs. Ask us for more information, we have products to help you out!
